My design for The New York City Philosophy Club answers to the collaborative aspect of joining a club and working towards a common goal. Particularly, "doing" philosophy through conversing and collaborating can feel like we are building onto each other's ideas, which I reflected onto the separated and puzzle-like typography.
With a retro futuristc typography, I mean to create a sentiment of joy and excitement. Througth the little figures, I wanted to express what "doing" philosophy is like. I believe many would say, its hard (like the person lifting the barbell), precarious (holding part of the P) and strenuous (pushing against the second H), but it's also triumphant (straddling I and L).
